There are a lot of great books and websites for researching Ohio. This page will contain some of my favorites.
Howells, Cyndi. http://cyndislist.com/
For over 15 years, Cyndi has worked on making this the "go-to" site online. By using this link: http://cyndislist.com/us/oh/ you will go directly to her page regarding Ohio. Use this site also for Revolutionary War to Migration Routes, Newspapers to DNA and Religion to Cowboys. Take time and check this out.
Overton, Julie Minot. Ohio Towns and Townships to 1900: A Location Guide. Kay Ballantyne Hudson and Sunda Anderson Peters, ed. Penobscot Press, 2000.
The information given includes not only the town and its township, but also the date it was created. As an example: Dudley Twp in Hardin County is in the south part of the east tier of townships, organized bout 1834.
Stevens, Larry. http://www.ohiocivilwar.com/
This website is full of information regarding infantry, artillery, and cavalry, books in print, GAR posts and much more. Well worth the time to check it out.
